Below is the ranking system of the Leaf Village from
the basic Lower Ninjas, Genin, to the Higher Ninjas, Jounin, as well as all other occupations which the Village offers.

Anbu The name given to a team of elite Ninjas whos missions usually consist of assassination or protection. They often
wear animal like masks to hide their faces [right]. |
Animals Beasts such as dogs, toads, snakes, etc. can be used as a Ninja tool, either threw summoning or accompaniment
to attack or gather info. |
Chuunin (Middle Ninja) The main
force for Konoha acting in many fields such as education, combat and others. They often become captains of military teams,
though many also teach at a Ninja Academy, training kids to become Genin. |
Examiner Often Special Jounins, they are taken from their normal military positions to help judge or watch over the
Chuunin exam tests. There jobs may range from explaining the rules of a paper test to playing the referee in hand-to-hand
combat. |
Genin (Lower Ninja) Apprentice Ninjas. Most of the Konoha Shinobis rank in this section. They become members of a team
and obey the orders of the Jounins and Chuunins. |
Hunter-Nin Also known as Body erasers. Each Hidden Village has a team of hunters, given the specific duty of hunting
down Missing-Nins. They kill, then completely dispose of the body of their prey, leaving no trace often having wild birds
eat at the Ninjas internal organs and skin. This is done in order to make sure the Village secrets which a Ninja's body holds,
such as Chakra types, herbs, NinJutsu, etc. won't be revealed. They are the specialists who guard their Village's secrets.

Jounin (Upper Ninja) Upper Elite
Class Ninja. The elites that represent Konoha. They are military captains. |
Kage Ho-(Fire), Kaze-(Wind),
Rai-(Lightning), Mizu-(Water), and Tsuchi-(Earth) Kage. Given the title of Kage as the strongest leader of one the Five Great
Shinobi Countries. They rule their Villages and stand equal in power with the rulers of their Country. Although reign over
the thousands of Ninja in the world is souly theres. |
Missing-Nin Ninjas who have abandoned their Village. These Shinobis are considered traitors and are hunted down because
of the secrets they may hold. Other Hidden Villages would be interested purchasing this information becuase it could be useful
in gaining an upper hand in battle. Villages create special Units of Hunter-Nins to take care of this problem. |
Ninja Academy Student Ninjas which are in training and have not yet graduated to the Genin level. To pass their first
test and become a Genin, they must know basic ninja skills such as hiding and setting traps. They must also know a few simple
Jutsus such as Henge no Jutsu, Bunshin no Jutsu and Kawarimi no Jutsu - Transformation, Clone and Subsitute Body techniques.
Along with this, they must also have adequate knowledge of 3 basic Ninja tools: Kunais, Shurikens and Makibishi. |
Ninja Academy Teacher Often Chuunin, or possibly Jounin, level Ninjas, they teach possible Genin candidates the basic
Ninja skills such as Henge, Kawarimi and Bunshin along with trap-setting, rope untieing, etc. |
Sage Powerful Ninjas whos power
have acheived legendary stautus. Any village would be happy to get one of these Ninjas in their ranks. Some have the power
to destroy small villages on there own such as Orochimaru. |
Sensei Japanese word for teacher - they are the leaders of Ninja teams. |
Special Jounin Special Upper Elite Class Ninjas. They are each a specialist of specific jobs. Normally they are positioned
under the Jounin as their subordinates. |
Spy A Ninja especially trained in espionage. Often Jounin level Ninjas, they have to be powerful, fast and sneaky. |
Torture and Interrogation Squad Captain Someone who specialises in torture and interrogation, they must have certain
skills which can be implemented and used to gather information. |
Tutor Similar to a teacher, tutors are more specialised in certain fields of knowledge and sometimes teach possible
Hokage candidates. They are often Special Jounins. |
