A Chuunin level of the Ninja, him and his comrade, Izumo, attempt to hold their very own Unoffical First Test. Before the Chuunin exam has even begun, they use Genjutsu to change the meeting room's number. After, they try to persuade the Genin to quit now. Him and his friend, Izumo, had attempted to pass the Chuunin Exam but failed three times in a row. Now they are Chuunin moderators for the first test. He carries two large Kunai-style weapons on his back.

Haku is a former Hidden Mist Ninja, and is a very powerful one at that; he also may be a former member of the Hunter-nin team. In his first appearance, he is masquerading as a hunter-nin from the Mist country, sent to kill/capture Zabuza. Haku comes from an advanced bloodline and has many special techniques, one of which, being the Demonic Ice Mirrors - a technique where he surrounds his opponent with mirrors of ice, and travels between them at incredible speeds. This makes it nearly impossible to find him and attack him, as he can dodge from mirror to mirror at high speed. Another useful technique he uses is Water Needles, made from water, they are frozen and controlled by his Chakra to attack on his opponent. Haku normally uses Senbon - small needle-like weapons that are thrown to strike his opponent at pressure points, or puncture vital organs. Haku is a master of Acupuncture - he manages to strike Zabuza in such a way that he appears dead, but isn't, this is called a momentary death.

Sakura has a crush on Sasuke, but she may well have some competition (from just about every female character in the damn series) She's often self-conscious about her forehead, despite the fact that, if you compare it to the foreheads of some of the other characters, it's not that big at all. In fact, a heck of a lot of the male characters have a crush on her (for example Naruto (who she hates) and Rock Lee (who she's starting to respect)). At the start of the manga, all she seems to care about is love. However, during the Chuunin exam, her personality changes suddenly - she realizes that in her infatuation with Sasuke, she has neglected her duties as a team member - this coincides with her chopping off most of her hair (which she grew long because Sasuke apparently likes long hair). Then, she kicks sound-nin butt using her intelligence which is her main strength.

Hatake Kakashi, also known as 'the Copy Ninja Sharingan Kakashi', he is a Jounin assigned to look after and train Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto. Kakashi has memorized over 1000 Jutsus (probably more), all of which are very impressive. He learnt them through a special eye technique which can copy Jutsus called the Sharingan - also known as the 'copy wheel eye'. However, because he is not a member of the Uchiha clan, it seems to have been attached in an operation - there is a scar over it, and normally the Sharingan effects both eyes, not just one. Kakashi is a very powerful Ninja, one not to be underestimated. He is known around the world for his incredible powers. He is rivals with Gai, a fellow Jounin in the Leaf village. They have fought almost 100 times, 50 wins and 49 losses. Gai claims to be stronger but we'll have to see about that...

A Ninja who has achieved the name of Kage (Shadow), strongest ninja of a Hidden Village, Hokage is the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village. Sometimes referred to as Sandaime (3rd) because he is the 3rd of four KonohaNin's to gain the title Hokage; he is also the 3rd face on the mountain overlooking Leaf Village. Said to be the strongest among all the generations of Hokages, because of his genius, he was called The Professor. He has a large and impressive arsenal of Jutsu which he has learnt over his many years serving the Leaf Village. In fact, he is said to know all of the Jutsu that exsist from his Village. However, his strength has begun to decrease with his old age. Hokage was previously the student of the 2nd Hokage, and the sensei of Orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade. Hokage has been refered to as Sarutobi Sensei, his real name, which may mean he is related to Sarutobi Asuma.

A brave Ninja who was responsible for sealing the Nine-tails Demon Fox inside Naruto, and is remembered for his heroic acts on the monument which over shadows Leaf Village. Before he performed the seal which would destroy the Demon Fox and himself, he said that he did not want Naruto to be viewed as the container of a monster yet as a hero who saved the Leaf Village from annihilation. He was a student of Jiraiya's, and later the sensei of Kakashi.

When Hokage calls a meeting to alert the Jounin of the Leaf Village of Orochimaru, this man is seated to the right of him. One of three members on the council, him, Hokage and another lady, he is probably an important Ninja. He looks like a relative of the 3rd, most likely his brother.

A missing-nin of the Hidden Mist, and previously one of the Mist Ninja Seven Swordsmen, along with Zabuza. He enters the Leaf Village with Itachi and immediatly runs into trouble when he and Itachi are confronted by Asuma, Kurenai and Kakashi. This Ninja, who's first name means "Demon Shark", carries a huge sword which blade is made of large, sharp scales. Because the blade is made of shark skin, it does not cut like a normal sword, but rips through. It seems that he specialises in water-type Jutsus.

A genius of the Hyuga Main House, at 5 years old she is already more talented than her older sister, Hinata. She receives intense training from her father, Hiashi.

Head of the Hyuga Clan, and father of Hinata and Hanabi. He and Neji's father, Hizashi, were twins. However, Hiashi was the eldest son, born into the world first, and deemed a member of the Main House. Hizashi, who was the second born, was deemed a member of the Branch House. Hizashi was killed taking Hiashi's place so as to protect the Souke. Hiashi thinks it may have been a mistake that he was made a member of the Souke, as Hizashi's son, Neji, is one who most truly masters the ways of Hyuga Clan.

A Genin level ninja, she is in Kurenai's team 8. A Member of the Hyuga ichizoku(clan), main house, her father is the leader of the clan. As a member of the clan, she can use the Byukugan. Although a talented ninja, Hinata lacks confidence in herself, which is her greatest weakness. Having entered the Chuunin Selection Exam to change herself, Hinata has decided to stop running away from confrontation. Using the Hyuga Style TaiJutsu, the strongest Leaf Village TaiJutsu style, combined with the Byukugan eye technique, Hinata is quite a dangerous ninja. With this style even a slight touch is enough to cause drastic internal damage. This TaiJutsu which has been passed down each generation is what makes the Hyuga so talented. The Hyuga style causes damage by flowing their Chakra into the opponent's Inner Coils System. A technique that destroys the inner organs, a "Gentle Fist" style. A seemingly unimpressive hit, can be critical to even the toughest guy.

A member of the Hyuga Clan, branch house, Neji can never be leader of his clan. Using the Hyuga Style TaiJutsu, the strongest Leaf Village TaiJutsu style, combined with the Byukugan Neji is quit dangerous. With this style even a slight touch is enough to cause drastic internal damage. This TaiJutsu which has been passed down each generation is what makes the Hyuga so talented. The Hyuga style causes damage by flowing their Chakra into the opponent's Inner Coils Systems. A technique that destroys the inner organs, a "Gentle Fist" style. A seemingly unimpressive hit, can be critical to even the toughest guy. Neji's eyes can even see the Chakra Holes, above the Inner Coils System are 361 pressure points (TenKetsu) called Chakra Holes. They are the size of the tip of a needle. These are also called the Opening Points (Tsubos) and if you press these pressure points accurately. You can stop or increase your opponent's Chakra flow. You can control it however you want. These attacks can completely shut down an opponents Chakra flow. Making it impossible for them to do any Jutsu. And on top of this, Neji has a complete defense, having mastered the Juken (Gentle Fist Style), he is able to expel Chakra from his whole body and is able to defeat the physical attack with the force of his Chakra discharge alone. Making his body spin like a top, he dodges and pushes them back with their own force. Also making it a great offense. This is a secret Jutsu that is only passed down onto the successor of the Main Hyuga House, Neji is a genius among genius' to have mastered it on his own.
